Study lab session

Reading:

You can look at a text with various levels of detail
You can look at an individual leaf (sentence, point)
You can look at a tree (paragraph, claim)
You can look at a forest (paper / book, section)

What is the point of what I’m reading?

  1. Skimming for Structure
  2. Contextual exploration
  3. critical analysis
  4. annotation and engagement
  5. synthesis and review

Even without reading the text itself, there’s a lot of information you can gleam -
the title, preface, abstract, table of contents, index, or key sections.

Don’t get carried away with secondary sources - they can be helpful, but the exam is primarily intended to see your understanding of the content that was given, not whatever else.

There’s no notes at the exam. So, printed and annotated/highlighted copies of all of the texts is a very good idea.
